Bringing back play to Broidy Park in Pictou, Nova Scotia
How it all began
There is a famous quote by Dave Ramsey which says, “A goal without a plan is just a dream.” Thankfully for the Town of Pictou, one woman’s dream has a plan which is already in motion to becoming a reality.
While at Broidy Park in Pictou with her young daughter one warm summer evening in 2019, Megan sadly noticed that there was no one else in the Park except for the two of them. She quickly began daydreaming of when she was a kid growing up in Pictou and the wonderful childhood memories of playing at the busy park from dawn until dusk. She suddenly felt a longing for those magical times again when an idea suddenly popped in her mind. An idea of constructing a splash pad at Broidy Park for everyone to enjoy and where new memories could be made.
She gathered a team of volunteers, and they got to work!
Our Vision
Our Vision is to bring back life and play to Broidy Park in Pictou, Nova Scotia by adding a safe, eco-friendly, and accessible splash pad play area. Making the park a recreation hub for every one of every age and every ability. Together, we can make this vision a reality.
